• Do not move your vehicle until the police arrive

• Immediately find out if anyone is injured

• Try to avoid speaking to the other driver(s) other than to find out if anyone is injured

• Obtain name(s) and address(es) of any witnesses

• Obtain the name(s) and insurance policy number(s) of the other driver(s)

• Do not make any admissions of fault about your driving

• If you are injured, immediately go to the hospital by ambulance, if available

• Seek appropriate follow-up medical care

• Start a diary of the events, including how the accident is impacting your daily life
